How does it work?
If you live in London or are able to travel to London:
1. Initial consultation and design agreement
Arrange an appointment for a relaxed consultation with Judy at Cockpit Arts, Holborn. Listening to your ideas and learning about the occasion you’re attending and your outfit. Judy will put you at ease and take the time to get to know you.
If possible please bring your outfit along to the consultation. You’ll try on different hats for style and fit, and discuss colours and materials. Judy will suggest either an existing design uniquely tailored to you, or a totally new design. Once the main design elements are agreed, Judy will let you know of the price. If you are happy with the details and would like to go ahead, you would pay a deposit to confirm the order during this initial consultation.
2. Fitting appointment
At your fitting appointment, you will discuss the completed look with Judy, and try on your hat to check that both sizing and fit are correct.
3. Completion appointment
This is the exciting part where you come to collect your finished hat. If there are any minor adjustments to be made, Judy will endeavour to make those while you wait. Judy will take the balance payment at this stage. Your hat will come beautifully wrapped in its own hat box.
If you live further afield in the UK, internationally or aren’t able to travel to London:
1. Initial contact
Contact Judy via phone or e-mail for an initial conversation to discuss your idea, the occasion you’re attending, and your chosen outfit. Please e-mail Judy a photograph of yourself, wearing your outfit if possible, or a headshot.
2. Design agreement
Judy will respond via email with styles expertly selected for you. You will also be able to adapt existing designs, to match the colour of your outfit, and textural designs to match. Once the main design elements are agreed, Judy will let you know of the price. If you are happy with the details and would like to go ahead, you would pay a deposit to confirm the order.
3. Hat completion and delivery
Judy will be in touch when your hat is complete, by sending a photograph of the piece by email. If you're completely happy, you pay the balance of the order. Judy will dispatch your hat by Royal Mail, Special Delivery or Parcelforce. If you prefer to use a chosen courier please let Judy know. Your hat will come beautifully wrapped in its own hat box.
